Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and MyResumeExpert ("Company", "we", "us") governing your access to and use of myresumeexpert.com and all associated services, features, and content (the "Service").
By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you represent that you are at least 16 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
Your Account
To access most features, you must create an account with a valid email address and a secure password. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us immediately at support@myresumeexpert.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
- Ensuring your account information is accurate and up to date.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or show signs of fraudulent activity.
Permitted Use
You may use the Service to create, edit, and export professional resume documents for lawful personal or professional purposes. You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations.
- Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening, or infringes any third-party rights.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service without prior written consent.
- Attempt to circumvent any security, rate-limiting, or access-control mechanism.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person or entity.
- Use the Service to create fraudulent or misleading documents.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercialize any portion of the Service without our written permission.
Your Content
You retain full ownership of all content you submit to the Service, including resume text and documents ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you.
You represent and warrant that Your Content does not violate any law or infringe any third-party rights. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or legality of Your Content.
To provide AI-assisted features you request, the text of Your Content is sent to our AI provider, which processes it only to return results to us. We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and we do not share it with third parties for their own commercial purposes without your explicit opt-in consent.
Payments & Billing
Free Access
You can create an account for free, keep up to three active resumes, use the editor and live preview, and run limited free scans and AI actions. Downloading your resume as PDF or DOCX requires a paid plan. No credit card is needed for free access.
Plans
Paid access comes as a one-time pass in three lengths: 2 days, 7 days or 30 days. Each pass is a single payment that is never renewed and never charged again automatically. While a pass is active it unlocks PDF and DOCX downloads and the AI features without per-use credits, subject to reasonable fair-use limits that protect the service from abuse. Buying another pass at any time, including while one is already active, adds its days on top of whatever access you have left. The current prices are shown at checkout in USD and exclude taxes where applicable. Payments are processed by Stripe.
Cancellation
There is nothing to cancel: every pass ends on its own at the end of its paid length, and nothing renews or charges automatically. If you no longer want access, simply do not buy another pass.
Refunds
If you are not satisfied, contact support@myresumeexpert.com within 7 days of your first purchase and we will refund it. When a purchase is fully refunded, the paid access that came with it ends.
Price Changes
We may change the price or contents of a plan for future purchases and renewals, with notice before the change applies to a renewal. Changes never affect a period you have already paid for.
Intellectual Property
All intellectual property in the Service — including the platform, UI, templates, AI features, trademarks, and branding — is owned by or licensed to MyResumeExpert and protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable law.
Resume templates downloaded or exported by you may be used for personal professional purposes. Redistribution, resale, or derivative commercial products based on our templates are not permitted without written consent.
AI-Assisted Features
The Service includes AI-powered writing suggestions and job-match analysis. These features are provided for informational assistance only. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before using it in your resume. We make no warranties that AI suggestions are accurate, complete, or appropriate for your specific situation.
AI outputs may occasionally contain errors or omissions. Do not rely on them as professional career counseling advice.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES.
We do not guarantee that using MyResumeExpert will result in employment. Resume quality and job outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MYRESUMEEXPERT AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MyResumeExpert and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) Your Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may export your resume data before termination; after account deletion, your data is removed as described in our Privacy Policy.
Sections that by nature survive termination (Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law) shall continue in effect.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MyResumeExpert is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Before filing any legal claim, we encourage you to contact us at support@myresumeexpert.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days' notice via email or a prominent in-app banner before the new Terms take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.
