Creative Cover Letter Example
Creative roles give you room for personality, but the letter still has a job: get the reader to open your portfolio. Use a confident voice, one memorable detail, and a clear link to your best work.
A fictional, illustrative example - not a real person, employer or result.
Creative cover letter sample
Dear Saffron Studio team,
Your rebrand for a family-run spice company is the reason I check your work every few months: it felt modern without losing its warmth. I would love to bring that same balance to Saffron Studio as your next Brand Designer.
Over five years I have designed identities, packaging and campaigns for consumer brands. My packaging refresh for a regional tea brand helped it win shelf space in a national supermarket chain, and a social campaign I designed for a sneaker launch became the client’s best-performing post of the year.
I like to start with the customer, sketch broadly, and share work early. I take feedback well and I never miss a deadline because of polish I could have saved for version two.
My portfolio is at ishaanverma.design. Thank you for looking, and I would be glad to talk about your upcoming projects.
Sincerely,
Ishaan Verma

Frequently asked questions
- How long should a cover letter be?
- Between 250 and 400 words on one page: an opening, one or two paragraphs of evidence and a short close.
- Who should I address it to?
- Use the hiring manager’s name when you can find it. Otherwise “Dear Hiring Manager” or “Dear [Company] Hiring Team” is fine.
- Do I need a cover letter if it is optional?
- Yes, when you can tailor it. A short, specific letter is one of the easiest ways to stand out from applicants who skip it.
