Fresher resume example

If you have little or no work experience, lead with education and show what you have done: projects, internships, coursework, volunteering and leadership. Keep it to one page.
This is a fictional, illustrative example -- not a real person or a promised result. Replace every detail with your own.
Full example resume
Sample content, for illustration -- not a real person.
Recent Computer Science graduate with hands-on experience building full-stack web applications through coursework and a summer internship. Looking for an entry-level software engineering role where I can keep learning and contribute from day one.
- •Built a REST API endpoint used by the mobile team, removing a manual data-entry step for 3 internal users.
- •Fixed 8 bugs from the team backlog during the internship, each verified with a new automated test.
- •Presented a demo of a small internal tool to a team of 12 engineers at the end-of-summer showcase.
- •Led a team of 4 students to build a course-scheduling web app in React and Node.js, used by 60+ classmates during registration week.
- •Set up the project's CI pipeline, catching integration errors before 3 separate team members ran into them.
Summary: weak vs. improved
Recent graduate looking for an entry-level opportunity to grow my career.

The weak version could be pasted onto any fresher's resume for any field. The improved version names the degree, the concrete experience and the specific type of role -- what both a recruiter and a keyword scan need to see.
Skills to include
- ✓Skills relevant to the job you want
- ✓Tools and software you have used
- ✓Languages, if useful for the role
- ✓Communication and teamwork, shown through examples
Only list skills you actually have -- the AI review in the editor will flag a skill that doesn't appear anywhere else in your resume.
Bullet examples: weak vs. improved
Helped with an internship project over the summer.
Built a REST API endpoint used by the mobile team, removing a manual data-entry step for 3 internal users.
"Helped with" says nothing about what you actually did. Naming the specific thing you built and who used it shows real contribution, even in a short internship.
Worked on a group project for a class.
Led a team of 4 students to build a course-scheduling web app in React and Node.js, used by 60+ classmates during registration week.
Naming your role (led), the team size, the stack and real usage turns a class assignment into evidence you can build and ship something people use.
Fixed some bugs during my internship.
Fixed 8 bugs from the team backlog during the internship, each verified with a new automated test.
A count plus the detail that you added tests shows productivity and good engineering practice, not just "I did some work."
How this changes by experience level
Treat it like a real role: use the same bullet structure as a full-time job, with specific outcomes, not just "learned X".
See the full example above.
List projects as their own section with the same structure as work experience: what you built, the tools, the team size and any real usage or results.
Built a course-scheduling web app in React and Node.js, used by 60+ classmates during registration week.
Lead with a short summary that names your target role directly and one transferable skill from your old field, then let your projects carry the technical proof.
Former high school teacher turned software engineer, now building web applications in React after completing a 6-month full-stack bootcamp; brings strong communication and mentoring skills from 5 years in the classroom.

Common mistakes to avoid
- !Going over one page
